Visualizing Infrastructure

 

The space of transportation infrastructure – the street, the sidewalk, the transit station, the parking lot – makes up much of our public space today. Twenty five to thirty five percent of land in our urban areas is transportation infrastructure. In most cases these infrastructures are large and immovable. What does it mean to change their design? How might we envision the city differently either now or in the future?
